Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026

This is a general draft that describes how Kynos handles your information. It has not yet had a legal review, and the final wording may change before launch.

What we collect

Your account: your email, your name, a password (stored hashed, never in plain text) and the country you live in.

What you give the product: your onboarding answers, journal entries, framework workbooks, practice sessions, and conversations with the Guide.

How you use it: which practices you finish, check-ins, and basic device and log data we need to keep the service running and secure.

Payments: handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. We keep your subscription status.

Why we use it

To run Kynos: sign you in, remember where you are in a framework, and show your own maps and journal back to you.

To personalise it: the Guide and your maps use what you have shared, only where you have allowed it.

To keep you safe: we ask for your country so that, if you ever write something that suggests you need urgent help, we can show phone numbers that work where you are.

To contact you: account messages, receipts, and reminders you have not turned off. Every reminder email has a one-click unsubscribe.

Your choices about learning from you

Kynos only builds your maps from your journal and conversations if you allow it, and you can withdraw that at any time. When you do, what was learned from that source is removed.

You can see what Kynos remembers about you, change it, or dismiss it. A dismissed item stays dismissed.

Grouped data

We combine information from many members into grouped data so Kynos can learn what helps people. We never share your individual information with anyone. Only grouped data is used this way, and it is not tied to your name, your email or your account.

This does not change what you can see, correct or delete about your own information.

Who helps us run it

We use a small number of companies to provide the service: Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Anthropic (the AI that writes the Guide’s replies and reflections), ElevenLabs (voice), Resend (email) and Stripe (payments).

They process data for us and for no one else. We do not allow our AI provider to train its models on your content.

What we never do

We never sell what you write. We never share your individual information. We never share it for advertising. We do not store raw audio from voice conversations.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account we delete what you created and remove your personal details. Some records we must keep, such as payment records, are kept only for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, and you can object to how we use it. If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, these are legal rights. You can export and delete your data from your account settings, or contact us.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to member data is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if something affects you.

Children

Kynos is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

What Kynos is not

Kynos is not therapy or medical care, and it does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are in crisis, call your local emergency number.

Changes to this policy

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
