KYNOS Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice
Last updated October 26, 2026
This notice explains how Kynos Reintegration Institute ("KYNOS") handles consumer health data under Washington's My Health My Data Act. It applies to Washington residents and to anyone whose consumer health data is collected in Washington. It adds to the KYNOS Privacy Policy, which also applies.
Consumer health data we collect
Washington defines consumer health data broadly. To be safe, we treat all of the following as consumer health data:
| Category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Breath practice safety answers | Pregnancy, a heart condition, a seizure history, panic connected to breathing | To keep unsuitable practices away from you |
| Health labels | A label you ask Kai to remember, such as ADHD | So Kai can take it into account in future conversations, only if you said yes |
| Check-ins | How you feel, your energy, steadiness, overwhelm, cravings, and capacity | To recommend the right practice and show your progress |
| What you create and say | Journal entries, framework answers, maps, and Kai conversations that mention your physical or mental wellbeing | To provide the frameworks, journal, and Kai |
| Insights | What KYNOS learns about your patterns, capacity, and what helps you | To personalize KYNOS for you |
| Pilot recovery group membership | That you joined the pilot group for people in addiction or mental health recovery | To run and evaluate the pilot |
Where it comes from
From you, and from insights KYNOS creates using what you provide.
Your consent
We collect consumer health data only with your consent, which we ask for in the app before collecting it, separately from accepting our terms. Each consent is described when we ask. You can withdraw any consent at any time in Settings or by emailing connect@kynosnow.com.
Who we share it with
Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract: cloud hosting and storage, AI language and voice providers, and product analytics, which hide what you write or say. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
Third parties: none. We do not share consumer health data with third parties.
Affiliates: none. KYNOS has no affiliates that receive consumer health data.
We never sell consumer health data, and we never use it for advertising. We would share it beyond this only with your separate consent, or where the law requires.
